I want a pretty card...Mom
My youngest daughter asked me to make a birthday card for her boyfriend's mother. I took her to my stash of cards and said choose one. She spent some time looking through the cards and turned to me and said they are all lovely mom, but I want a pretty card. Needless to say I was a bit confused, but then realised to her a pretty card was a Parchment one. So here it is. The designer of this card is a very talented lady called Mary Kerr. The pattern was published in the March 2012 issue of Parchment Craft magazine. I did change the centre bit, so I hope you don't mind Mary.
I have not met the mom yet but I hope she likes her "pretty card"

Stamped Parchment Card
Apologies for being missing in action recently. We have just been a bit inundated with life over here.
I have however managed to make a few parchment cards. They are both pretty simple cards and I have used my ProMarkers to colour them.
The rose is a stained glass style stamp.Embossed on the back and then coloured, some grid and cut work finished it off.

The butterfly has been traced with a white pencil and embossed on the PCA lace template. I have coloured the back lightly with ProMarkers and added some gems.

Faux Parchment my newest creations
Well I think I am officially hooked on embossing folder parchment work. I know it is not anything like the real thing but for quick cards that look like they have taken a long time to do, I can deal with that.
It is important to use the genuine parchment paper to avoid the paper cracking and tearing when you re work it. I also find if I emboss a piece of card stock as well as the parchment it protects the parchment a little more.
The first on I am going to show you was just re-embossed on certain areas to whiten up the pattern. I then used Tim Holz Distress Ink Broken China and Victorian Velvet on the back of the design. The folder is Anna Griffin Foulard.
The second folder is a Darice folder Butterflies in the corner
There was no need to re-emboss any portion of this folder once I had put it thru the Grand Calibur. I did some lace work and embossing on the butterflies and used my Wink of Stella brush from Zig to add a little sparkle to the dots and the punched butterfly. I stamped a sentiment from Justrite Stampers added a bow and some gems.
