Christmas cards all done and mailed

What a sense of achievement when you finish 81 Christmas cards and have them all mailed by the 1st week in December. I generally try to start them around August and make about 3/4 a week. Well here a some of the ones I have made.
Parchment card from a pattern in a Parchment Craft magazine.
Using the negative of snowflake dies with a glittered background

This one was inspired from Pinterest
Another Parchment card using a template from
ParchCraft Australia and working a grid border
Stamped image from Stampin Up
once again worked on a grid on Parchment

Final one for now. Combined 2 Parch Craft Australia
templates and coloured with pens and glitter.

Parchment Grid Work

I needed to brush up on my Parchment grid work skills. I have used the same grid pattern on to different grids. The larger piece was worked on the PCA Bold Straight grid and the smaller piece on the Pergamano MultiGrid # 4. I have worked the embossing on both grids on the back of the paper and then turned the grid over with the paper still attached. Working through the grid I perforated the pattern using a Pergamano 4 needle tool (::) and a PCA 3 needle tool (...).The inside image for the larger piece came from the PCA Easy Emboss Christmas Coaster set and the snowflake (discontinued) in the smaller piece is a Pergamano rubber stamp. I have used a fairly new product called Sticky Ink and glitter on both images.
The whole point of this exercise was to see the size difference in the grids.
Now I need to make them into cards and send them off.

Black and White Butterfly Mask

I saw this digi on Make It Crafty and it just screamed to be made in parchment. I have done it in black and white. The image is the Butterfly Mask from the Masquerade Masks set. I took the image and opened it in Paint Shop Pro, duplicated it 3 times and arranged them as a frame. Printed the final image onto parchment paper and did some embossing  cutting and colouring.

Power Poppy Inspiration

Today's post was inspired from a blog I follow called Power Poppy. The tutorial was how to make a Fold over Box. I followed the very good directions and came up with my version. I also made some Christmas Crackers to put inside it, tho you can put cards and envelopes in as well.
It didn't take very long to make the box. The crackers I made using my 1,2,3 Punch Board, following a tutorial from You Tube. The stamped topper is from Heartfelt Creations, I am not sure if it is still available.
Thank you Allison Cope from Power Poppy

No Card Parchment

Been doing some parching the last few days. The first project is a small one piece fan designed by June Owen. This is great as a topper for a card or even as a tag for a gift. The front is done on plain parchment with punched 3D flowers and pearl centres, I have backed the fan onto some blue card and tied some gold thread around the bottom.

The second project took a bit longer and was designed by Mary Kerr. It is a parchment napkin or paper serviette holder. I have used a couple of different grids for the embossing and lace work. The insert is  patterned rose vellum. I have also put some punched flowers on the front and back. I had to play around with the inside to keep the vellum and parchment upright. This was a great project and has so many possibilities.

21st Birthday Card

My youngest daughter turns 21 this week and all her life she has identified with the Little Mermaid, so I thought her card should reflect her dreams. I have used 3 different mermaid images from a toddler, a young girl and of course a young woman. I have coloured all three with Promarkers and used dies and other bits and bobs for the finishing touches.

No Line Colouring

For today's post I pulled out my Polychomas pencils and worked on parchment paper over a rubber stamp. I wanted the effect of a line free image and used the pencils to layer and shade. Here are 2 cards I have made. The first is an old favourite my PSX Hibiscus stamp.

The second card is an image I found so printed it off and using the same technique coloured it.
For both cards I added some Parchment work.

Butterfly Magic Box

Today I made a box using the Spellbinders Butterfly Magic Expandable die. I have used this die many times but only on cards, so I thought I should figure out another way to use it. After much measuring and endless throw aways this is what I came up with. Two pieces of card stock measuring 8 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches. Mark one sheet top and the other bottom. On the top sheet I scored on my lid side of my box maker board at 1 1/2 inches all around. I then centered the die on the card stock and ran it through my Grand Calibur to cut and a second time with the embossing mat in place. It came out beautifully and all I had to do was just cut away some of the bits on the edges. I also cut a piece of acetate slightly larger than the die and adhered that to the inside of the box lid. Folded all the score lines and cut the little squares at the corners. Folded them in and using wet glue stuck them down. I repeated the whole process with the second sheet only this time there was no die and the scoring was done on the bottom side of the box maker. Cut into the corners and stuck it all down with wet glue. Voila a lovely box to be embellished and used for a gift or some card sets.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial

Stampin Up

I am pretty new to the Stampin' Up products, so I thought I would share 2 cards made with the same stamp. When I first saw the very popular Lotus Blossom stamp set I knew I had to have it. I did play around on scrap before I was happy that I had the technique right. The first card is stamped on regular card stock and I have used the sentiment as well. The card is a tri-fold card layered with dies.

The next card I prepared the layered parhcment papers making 2
separate layers with embossed borders. I stamped the Lotus Blossom onto
the parchment with Versamark chalk ink and left it to dry.
This has a very delicate look to it and I will add a sentiment once I know
who it is going to.

White on white

I thought I would just post some of the white on white cards I have made, I am sure they would be suitable for birthday, wedding or anniversary cards.
I have used a mix of embossing folders and dies to put the cards together.
The card above was made using Spellbinders Gold Circle dies and their feather dies. The embossing folder is Cuttlebug Wicker Weave.
For this card I used Marianne dies and embossing folder.
The last one is made with a Marianne die, flourishes are from Spellbinders and the rose from
Cheery Lyn. The embossing folder is the Darice Oblong Doily folder

I have used Sue Wilson's California Collection Basic Frames  Set A and the Decorative Frames Set B as the basis of the shape and layers for this card. The card is a triple fold out card, which I saw on a You Tube video. I have used a Kenny K image coloured with Promarkers and some word stamps from my stash.

Go for Gold

Stamping on parchment and heat embossing with different embossing powders can give a totally different look to the same stamp. I have used one of my favourite stamps (discontinued) from PSX the Hibiscus. For this card I have decided to go gold and white. The image was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold detail embossing powder. I then dry embossed the petals and leaves from the back to add some texture. I also embossed a simple border and attached the parchment paper to a metallic gold layer using gold corner peel offs and glue dots.

Card for the day- PSX Botanical Sunflower

A quickish card made today. I attached my parchment paper over the PSX Botanical Sunflower image. With my polychromas pencils I began to colour the image. Once coloured I added some sticky ink with a mapping pen and glitter. I used an Oval PCA template around the flower and attached it to some rainbow paper and onto a card.
